Upper Iowa University and Iowa ABI partner on tuition discount program

FAYETTE, Iowa (November 20, 2012) — Employees of businesses that are members of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry will reap the benefit of a new tuition discount program between ABI and Upper Iowa University.  The discounts also apply to employees' spouses and dependent children up to age 26.

"We are very pleased to have the Iowa Association of Business and Industry as one of our elite group of Corporate Advantage partners," said UIU Acting President Dr. Richard R. Patrick.  "We know that the ABI leadership shares our conviction that education changes lives, and we are proud to make the power of education more affordable to the ABI membership."

The Iowa ABI represents a diverse group of 1,400 businesses that employ over 300,000 Iowans. These business members include manufacturers, processors, retailers, insurance companies, financial institutions, publishers and printers, transportation services and the professions.

As part of the UIU Corporate Advantage program, employees of Iowa ABI members will receive set tuition discounts for courses taken at any of Upper Iowa's 19 educational centers or through the UIU online or independent study programs. UIU offers 18 majors and three master's degrees through those programs.

The tuition discount can range from 10 percent to 20 percent as determined annually by the total number of ABI beneficiaries taking courses through UIU. UIU will also waive application fees.
