Assistant Vice President for Malaysia Operations Message

Kalai Ponniah, Malaysia Programs Director

Mr. Kalai Ponniah

Dear UIU Family, Prospective Students, and Parents,

Welcome to Upper Iowa University – Malaysia! Whether you’re new to the institution or returning to continue your studies it is my hope that your experience with us will provide you with a lifetime of fond memories and new friendships in addition to a quality educational experience.

All of us, your faculty, staff and fellow students, are glad that you are here. We all want your experience both at Upper Iowa University – Malaysia to be a good one.

Be engaged in your learning. Guided by your faculty, you will have the opportunity to work in teams, and resolve problems while working under constraints. By the time you graduate, you will be a confident, resourceful problem-solver and presenter who will be an asset to any organization. In addition, studies have shown that students who participate in at least one activity are more likely to be successful in their university life.

Broaden your network and enjoy your time by participating in student activities. We have a student club called the House of Fayette which organizes a wide range of activities and I would encourage each one of you to participate actively in all these activities to nurture your creativity, interests and interpersonal skills.

Your feedback is important to us. I invite you to talk to your faculty and staff and let us know what we can do to ensure we are providing you with a learning experience second to none. I wish you academic and personal success.
